We put on our "Scientist Caps" and have been doing experiments learning the differences in Air, Water and Land. Air I cannot see air. Is it really there? The air in the bottle pushes on the water keeping the water from going in the bottle. The air in the balloon has weight. It is heavy and moves the scale down. Ice water makes the air cold and the slow moving molecules do not inflate the balloon. Hot water heats up the air making it rise up and fills the balloon. If we suck the air out of the cup it sticks to our faces. Water We learned that water is more than 70% of the earth's surface, within five oceans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IAQTtXqcNA Sink and Float What is heavier than water? We predicted what items are heavier than water and would sink, or lighter than water and would float. ...
What animals are reptiles? There are many types of reptiles. The main categories are snakes, crocodiles and alligators, turtles, and lizards. Reptiles can be found on every continent except for Antarctica. Alligators and crocodiles look slow, but can move very quickly when attacking. Snakes are legless reptiles. They move along the ground by flexing their body and can move very quickly despite not having legs. Only a small percentage of snakes are poisonous. Many snakes are constrictors, meaning that they squeeze their prey with their bodies until the animal is dead or immobile. Then they swallow it whole. If the meal is large enough, a snake can go weeks or even months without needing to eat again. Lizards are similar to snakes, but with legs. Turtles are reptiles with a big shell to protect them. Some Turtles can live for more than 100 years. What is a reptile? Reptiles are animals that are cold...
Why Do We Dress Up on Purim? Here is a sampling of the story: The king wanted his wife to come to a party ; she did not want to, and she was killed. Then an evil man wanted the Jews dead and plotted to accomplish this with the approval of the king. The king remarried, and his new queen happened to be Jewish, and arranged for the decree to be countered . Only after the fact, when one looks at the entire story, does one realize the great miracle that transpired. The Talmud writes that just as the Jews at the time pretended to be serving other gods, G‑d pretended that He was going to destroy the Jewish nation, and in the end He did not. Purim Fun
