Hibernation, Migration and Adaptation

Brrrr It's cold outside.
What do the animals do to keep warm in the Winter?

Adaptation
We learned some animals stay all winter and adapt to the cold
by growing thicker fur, hiding food and making their home warmer by adding leaves and fur.
They hunt or look for food all day long in the cold and snow.

Hibernation
A lot of animals sleep all winter deep in their dens and burrows.
This is called hibernation and the animals goes into a deep sleep
with their heart and breath very slow. They do not eat or poop.

Migration is where an animal travels to a warmer part of the country or south in America.
Butterflies, and many birds can not live in the cold temperature.
They need to eat bugs, or plant seeds and flower nectar.
